Malaysian Backpacker to Europe (part 1) -Denmark

Hello! Konichiwa! Annyeong Haseyo!

It's been zamaaaaaaaaaaan since I last updated this blog. Tiap kali post baru, selalu cakap macam tu yang lama tak update blog etc cliche reason HAHAπŸ˜…
Actually tak plan pun nak menulis blog malam ni, tapi tu la lepas exam tiba2 rasa kosong pulak waktu padahal sebelum exam punya la banyak wishlist nak buat itu ini. Normal la student kan πŸ’¨

As you can see from the title itself, that I'm going to portray in words my experience bacpacking in Europe. FYI, I went to Europe in summer 2018 -bulan puasa (ramadan) : so my experiences might be different to others.

πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“

Denmark → Poland → Czech Republic→ Germany → Turkey

Let's start!

Disclaimer: We are 2 orang, perempuan, berhijab

We landed in Copenhagen International Airport (CPH) around 3am. Since it's summer, the sun rise already. Kalau tak silap kami sampai kat Terminal 3. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 bersambung-boleh jalan. Kami jalan2 sekitar dalam airport sebab nak cari surau utk solat subuh: sebab sebelum fly sana ada terbaca online yang CPH ni ada surau. So kami pusing2 dekat setengah jam tak jumpa2  jugak..So we decided to solat kat ruang legar situ je. Tebalkan muka je bila dipandang. Faham-faham lah orang eropah ni kureng sikit dengan orang islam.πŸ’
Tapi, dont worry! orang2 Denmark ni baik-baik saja. Dia tak kacau pun kami. Airport CPH ni takde lah besar macam KLIA (KUL) .. lebih kurang macam aiport Penang (PNG) je. So don't expect much! -limited space je.

We were chilling (read:sleep) in CPH airport for about 3-4 hours jugak before start jalan dalam Copenhagen because metro starts their operation 6am kalau tak salah.
Boleh beli metro tickets kat mesin kat aiport tu.
Aku nasihatkan beli yang daily pass terus baru tak pening2 waktu kat stesen dalam bandar nanti sebab setengah stesen takde mesin tiket / jual tiket. Ada setengah stesen pulak ada mesin tapi accept only coins je. Mesin tiket metro in CPH airport accept both notes and coins.

And oh yeah! lupa nak kasi tahu, yang kami kat Copenhagen ni transit around 12 jam gitu je sebelum pergi Poland. So before we adventuring in Copenhagen city, we left our luggage in the locker. We chose the big locker 100DKK (Danish Krone) for 24 hours.

1.NYHAVN

NYHAVN

This is like KLCC Malaysia lah. When you google Copenhagen, this place would always be at the top and most impression about Copenhagen, Denmark. and when you google about Kuala Lumpur, you'll find KLCC.

Going to Nyhavn from CPH Airport : take metro from Luthavnen station (CPH airport), stop at Kongens Nytorv Station . It will takes about 7 stops before reaching the Kgs.Nytorv (8th station)

KONGENS NYTORV METRO STATION

As soon as arriving in  this station, you'll have this kind of view..The famous Nyhavn is about 500m walk from the opposite of the road. The surrounding view is so amazing. So don't ever take your gaze off everything and watch out for pickpocket! lol there's a sign in Nyhavn about pickpocket but thank god I have no experience being the mangsa of pickpocket during my stays in Europe this time!

They are a lot cafes around Nyhavn, but the people on internet said that price is 'affordable' too as its vibes . Noted sarcasm here πŸ˜‚. I don't really know about how cafes pricing are..since we went there in Ramadan and fasting .

Jalan belakang sikit dari Nyhavn, you guys will find like a park.. taman yang padanya ada macam statue of orang penting Denmark macam gambar kat bawah ni. Jalan sebelum sampai tu, ada kawasan jual souvenirs. Harga cekik darah gak la.. tapi why not enn untuk diri sendiri dan orang tersayang kan πŸ‘«πŸ’•

2.THE LITTLE MERMAID

THE LITTLE MERMAID

This is another compulsory place to visit when you arrive in Copenhagen, Denmark. It's like "You've never been to Denmark unless you've been in DEN LILLE HAFVRUE".

Since we wanted to feel more 'Denmark top 10 safest country vibes' we decided to walk from Norreport Station to The Little Mermaid though it takes 3.6km 😁

You can easily reach it by taking train from Norreport Station to Osterport Station.

This all bronze statue was build by Edvard Eriksen. Weight around 175kg.

Before you reaching the statue, you'll see this beautiful scenery.. and oh btw don't forget to look through the histories behind this statue. This statue ada sejarah di-vandelism, dicuri, disimbah cat untuk tanda protest etc. Menarik yalls sejarah dia.

3. TIVOLI GARDENS

Since Copenhagen is just our layover city, we didn't get to go here because we needed to catch our next flight to Poland. My friend also Malay-Malaysian went to Copenhagen a week later than me said that Tivoli Gardens> Disneyland Paris. Idk how solid the fact was since I never been neither to Paris nor Disneyland. I guess it true la kot. Btw he lives studies in France. Aku kenal dia waktu sama-sama hadiri kem BTN sebelum fly dulu.

Boleh naik train dan berhenti kat Copenhagen Central Station utk pergi. Serius wajib pergi sini, kalau ada extra time... or maybe next time (tapi aku tak datang dah kot  Copenhagen ni) wajib letak 1 day full untuk discover Tivoli ni... nampak lawa jeee dari gambar orang orang share ni.. rasa rugi la jugak.. tapi nak buat macam mana kannnn😣

takde gambar nak share... aku share apa yang aku nampak sepanjang jalan 3.6km nak sampai the little mermaid laaa okayy

random school cantik wehhhh

random old building, aku rasa mcm barrack askar

sebenarnya kannnnn sepanjang jalan 3.6km tu ada park cantik, dalam park tu ada caslte, kalau ada tengok tourist attraction Copenhagen Denmark ada je ni suggest gi situ.. tapi ye la kami once again macam 'aa takpe la tak gi pun' penat sangat wei puasa 18-19 jam gini. Memang la musafir boleh je taknak puasa tapi tu laaa kan ♀ kan

again random building

halal food: although, I went there during Ramadan, doesn't mean I do not look for food. I mean of course lah ada kan usha usha makanan .. lapar bulan puasa tambah travel ni lain macam sikit beb.. you can easily find halal food around Norreport Station. I notice there are quite numerous halal-turkish restaurants around there. Do check them out!
Also, since both of us are hijabists, we met few other hijabists around that station as well.. I guess the islamic community is quite huge in that area.

cycling around the city: Copenhagen might I say one of the most friendliest city to ride bicycle. I mean citizens from different stage of age are riding bicycle every time, everywhere they are heading to.. and if you are planning to go around Copenhagen on two-wheels vehicle (bicycle), Do check about where, price to rent  it. I bet it might be the best memories ever. Cycling can be fun and good for health! Kalau tak silap aku ada ternampak around their signboard about apps to rent bike.

language: Danish English Language proficiency 100% .. might I say.. I don't have to speak a single Danish word sepanjang my stay there. So, jangan risau nahπŸ˜‹

I'm going to end my post about Copenhagen Denmark with a simple travelog:

πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“

So that's it my part 1 stories in Europe. until we meet again .. aku tak tahulah bila ada free time dan kerajinan nak sambung tulis blog ni.. Post yang ni pun aku mula tulis 9 malam dan sekarang 3.24am dah hahahaha siap buat donut lagi 25 biji. πŸ˜†
